St James' Church, Normanton

The Church of St. James is a church in Normanton on Soar, Nottinghamshire.
==History==

The church is a medieval Grade I Listed building〔(British Listed Buildings ) retrieved 18 July 2013〕(built between 1141 and 1147). It is located on the Main Street on the southeast end of the village, and is situated right by the east bank of the River Soar (which is the county boundary with Leicestershire).
The current priest in charge is Rev. Dr. John Davey, who is also the priest in charge of the neighbouring parish of Sutton Bonington. There are regular services held. Recently an earthquake damaged the spire and major repair work is expected to be carried out in the spring of 2011.
